Drainage Construction
We are experts at drain and sewer construction, meeting all the relevant standards and only using approved contractors. Work is delivered to high specification with the correct materials, ensuring a long working life for your sewerage system.
When constructing drainage or sewerage systems, it is important that they are well constructed and comply to design standards. This can be for public highways or private land and the actual construction process can be quite complex. We only use nominated and approved drainage contractors and ensure they meet the necessary Health and Safety standards.
Sewer construction
Sometimes it is necessary to construct or relay anything from a section to an entire length of drain or sewer that may have inadequate fall or be in a poor state of repair. We can undertake drainage schemes on a smaller scale from design to construction. We use approved drainage contractors who are accredited to work on the public highway and in confined spaces. We can supply written quotations for drainage work upon request.
Sewer Connection – Section 106-109
Sometimes it may be necessary to take either foul or surface water, or both, and make a drain connection to public sewer. Application for provision of making connection to public sewer can also be made under Section 104 of the Water Industry Act 1991.
We can undertake sewage work that requires an onsite or offsite connection either to a sewer or manhole. This can be undertaken for any type of development. We can organise the connecting of storm or foul water drains to the main sewer, including dealing with all Section 106 applications, risk assessments and method statements. Insurances can be specified as required. We can complete applications on the behalf client and obtain written approval from the water company.
We use approved drainage contractors who have the necessary certification to work in confined spaces, enabling them to operate in deep excavations to make such connection. They are also NRSWA accredited to work on public highway to make such connection.
We can manage and obtain Highway licences for road opening permits, Section 50 licences, road closure permits and Traffic Management plans including road diversions.
Drain repair
Sometimes it is necessary to excavate and repair a section of pipe or to renew a whole drain run. We know that this may cause disruption and we can assure you that every care and effort is taken to avoid unnecessary damage to the surface and surrounding vegetation. We can repair or renew any type of drains. Written quotations are available on request.
Constructing a French drain
A French drain or land drain is a trench filled with gravel or rock that redirects surface and groundwater away from particular area. We can design and construct French drains.
Construction of Soakaways
Prior to deciding the best location for surface discharge into the ground by means of soakaway, there are set procedures to follow in accordance with the BRE Digest 365. The test involves time of concentration, soil infiltration and a soil permeability test. We can arrange for the test to be carried out before deciding the ideal location for a soakaway.
